An Introduction...

Allow me to introduce Sprouts: We are a year round culinary program that offers two-week summer camps and a variety of other classes teaching our students about local and organic ingredients and cooking sustainably. We give our students the opportunity to work with real chefs from all over the Bay Area in hands-on classes and show them the value (and fun!) of slow food.

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Emily Knell, the Summer Camp Coordinator for Sprouts, and I will be taking you by the hand and leading you through our first ever series in the south of France! I am currently doing my studies in Paris, and in my free time, taking workshops at the Cordon Bleu. I couple of these workshops (crème brûlée and macarons) have inspired the desert classes I will be teaching throughout the week.

Two-dozen of us will be nestled in a little village an hour north of the southern coast of France exploring the local markets and enjoying the sun, all while discovering the secrets of French Cuisine! We are brimming with anticipation as the first day approaches, and hope that you enjoy the frequent updates to the blog.
